The Coleman Taylor Transmissions Free Inspection Includes:

1. VEHICLE HISTORY

Our ASE Certified technicians will ask for your vehicle history to get an idea of the cars past maintenance and driving issues.

2. FLUID TEST

We test the current level and condition of your fluids to determine if this could be a cause of the transmission problem.

3. COMPUTER SCAN

We use our state-of-the-art computer diagnostics to scan the transmission systems for any problems that can start with the vehicles computer sending improper signals to the transmission. Coleman Taylor’s Computer Scan will determine if an electrical component is affecting your transmission’s performance. Most modern cars have computer controlled transmissions, and these diagnostic tests will pinpoint the problem.

4. ROAD TEST

This will allow the ASE Certified Technician to check your vehicles performance on the road. This road test will check:

  • Initial engagements
  • Passing gear
  • Vibrations, noises
  • Each drive range
  • TCC engagement
  • Park-hold
  • Shift timing
  • Neutral
  • Fluid level
  • Shift quality
  • Reverse

5. LIFT CHECK

Your vehicle is placed on a lift to inspect the controls underneath the vehicle for any possible cause of the problem external to the transmission. This lift check focuses on:

  • Shift linkage & cables
  • Final drive
  • Wire condition
  • Vacuum connections
  • Axles and shafts
  • Pan gasket
  • Harness connections
  • Mounts
  • Check for leaks
  • Ground connections
  • Perform hydraulic & pressure test (as required)

6. ADDITIONAL CHECKS

We also perform these additional checks:

  • Check the electronic components
  • Check the solenoids and sensors
  • Check the wiring that affects the transmission, solenoids and sensors
